Josh and Susannah – Toowoomba Wedding Photography
Josh and Susannah’s Toowoomba wedding was special to me for a number of reasons. As a wedding photographer I have quite often photographed multiple weddings for the same family. This however, represents the first time I photographed two weddings for Sisters in two different continents. I first photographed Susannah’s sister Felicity’s wedding back in the UK around five years ago. As fate would have it I managed to find myself in Australia five years later to be able to photograph Josh and Susannah’s Toowoomba wedding.
The wedding took place at the fantastic Jondaryan Woolshed’s just outside Toowomba. With everyone staying at the venue, some for a few days it made the wedding feel so much bigger than just a day event. Josh and Susannah absolutely LOVE their two dogs, Raz and Mila, and with the wedding ceremony taking place on the banks of the small creek, they had the dogs there for the ceremony.
Josh is also a super keen photographer. His passion is analog film based photography. When we shot their engagement session on the Gold Coast last year we discussed the idea of incorporating this into their wedding coverage. Josh has amassed quite a kit and presented me with various cameras and film stocks to play with. I tried to juggle covering the wedding as I normally would with my digital equipment but also getting key moments on some of Josh’s different cameras. We managed to include everything from 35mm black and white, 35mm colour negative, 120mm medium format and even a few rolls of super 8 video. From my point of view it was great fun to mix up how I work and get to play with some beautiful old bits of kit.
